Telugu singer Rahul Sipligunj, known for performing the Oscar-winning song Naatu Naatu from RRR and winning Bigg Boss Telugu 3, has been named in an FIR registered in Visakhapatnam following a woman's complaint in a marriage-related dispute. The woman has alleged threats, harassment and blackmail involving Sipligunj and 11 others. Police have registered a case at the MVP police station under various provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Information Technology Act.
According to the complaint, Karpurapu Rahul Reddy, identified as Sipligunj's brother-in-law, allegedly introduced himself to the woman as a relative of the singer while discussing marriage. She has alleged that he later threatened to leak her private photographs and videos. The woman claimed that the alleged threats caused damage to her reputation and personal life and that she was subjected to harassment in connection with the dispute.
The complaint further alleges that Sipligunj himself threatened the woman and forced her to record a video statement. The contents of the alleged video have not been disclosed. Based on the woman's allegations, police included multiple sections under the BNS and the IT Act while registering the FIR. The allegations remain unproven, and the police investigation is currently underway.

The song, performed alongside Kaala Bhairava and Keeravaani, won the Academy Award for Best Original Song. Following the Oscar victory, the Telangana government awarded Sipligunj a cash reward of Rs 1 crore.
The singer later won Bigg Boss Telugu 3 and continued working in the Telugu music industry. He was engaged to Harinya Reddy in August 2025 and the couple married in November. Sipligunj has also lent his voice to songs in films including Hari Hara Veera Mallu: Part 1 and Guntur Kaaram. Meanwhile, the latest FIR relates to allegations made by the complainant, and authorities are expected to determine the facts as the investigation progresses.
