Bollywood icon Madhuri Dixit has revealed that she wants her sons, Arin and Ryan Nene, to explore careers as YouTubers, following the example of her husband, Dr. Shriram Nene. Speaking at the latest edition of Creator X Creator on SCREEN, Madhuri emphasized that children today can carve their own paths, even outside the traditional glamour of the film industry.
Madhuri praised her husband’s work on YouTube, highlighting how he has turned his passion into a successful platform. “My husband is so tech-savvy, he's amazing. He talks about health, wellness, and ways to protect yourself from diseases. People want to watch that because they want to learn,” she said, explaining the appeal of informative content online.
The actress elaborated on the relatability factor that makes YouTube content effective. “When that face is familiar, you feel a connection to the person talking. People listen to you. It’s fun and engaging,” she noted, adding that her husband’s ability to connect with audiences has inspired her view of digital media as a viable platform for her children.
Madhuri also defended the idea of putting personal experiences online. She explained that sharing learnings and real-life stories can help viewers gain insights. “People want to listen to your experiences so they can learn. That’s what YouTube is all about,” she said, noting that this medium offers an authentic way to educate and connect with an audience.
The actress revealed that her family has even conducted intergenerational podcasts on their YouTube channel. “We had a session with the grandparents about their journeys and how our kids take inspiration. We also discussed college experiences and independence skills, like basic cooking,” Madhuri recalled, emphasizing the educational value of such content for both her sons and the audience.
Madhuri concluded by praising her children’s confidence and autonomy. “It’s wonderful to see how confident kids are in front of the camera. They don’t have to be like a star; they can be their own people on YouTube. That’s amazing,” she said. Married since 1999, Madhuri and Dr. Nene continue to inspire their children to explore unconventional career paths while valuing learning and creativity.
