Actor and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut responded sharply to an X user who questioned her cooking skills after watching a video of her preparing bhog for Janmashtami. Kangana had shared the festive preparation from her home, but the post soon drew an online comment about the way the dish was being prepared. The user appeared to question whether the gas stove was switched on and also pointed to the appearance of the cooking vessel.
Kangana clarified that she was not preparing halwa, as the user appeared to assume, but a traditional bhog offering. She explained that several ingredients were being prepared separately before being combined during the later stage of the preparation. According to her, the mixture would subsequently be allowed to set and then cut into pieces. She used the explanation to address what she described as a misunderstanding about the cooking process shown in her video.
The actor then turned her response into a personal retort directed at the user. Kangana wrote that cooking skills could not be expected from people who were a burden on their parents and the planet. She further told the user to concentrate on eating rather than worrying about cooking. Her response quickly attracted attention online, adding another episode to her long history of outspoken exchanges on social media.

Kangana's interaction comes after several other public disagreements and controversies surrounding her social media comments. In recent weeks, she had faced criticism over remarks concerning young Hindu women, which also led to a public exchange with yoga guru Swami Ramdev. The disagreement later appeared to ease during Raksha Bandhan, when both sides spoke about ending the dispute and choosing conversation over continued confrontation.
She had also recently criticised an advertisement featuring actor Kriti Sanon, questioning the clothing shown in a Raksha Bandhan-themed campaign. Kangana described the advertisement as inappropriate and argued that the presentation was unnecessarily provocative. The advertisement was subsequently withdrawn, although the controversy continued to generate discussion on social media.
For now, the latest exchange has shifted attention to Kangana's Janmashtami post and her response to the cooking-related criticism. Her decision to directly address the X user has once again highlighted her confrontational and outspoken style online. The incident also shows how personal posts shared by public figures can quickly become the subject of wider social media debates.
