Actor Hrithik Roshan has extended his support to educator, innovator and climate activist Sonam Wangchuk, who has been on an indefinite hunger strike demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the alleged NEET examination paper leak. Hrithik became one of the most prominent Bollywood personalities to publicly back Wangchuk's campaign by sharing a video of the activist on social media and highlighting the emotional and psychological impact that examination paper leaks have on students across the country. His statement came as Wangchuk was shifted to Delhi's Safdarjung Hospital after his health deteriorated during the protest.

Wangchuk was taken from the protest site at Jantar Mantar by the Delhi Police on Saturday morning after completing 21 days of fasting. According to the police, the action was carried out in compliance with directions issued by the Delhi High Court and based on medical advice regarding his worsening health condition. He was admitted to the emergency ward at Safdarjung Hospital, where officials said he is conscious and under medical observation. The police maintained that the transfer was conducted peacefully while ensuring his safety.

In his social media post, Hrithik Roshan expressed concern over the hardships faced by students when examination papers are leaked, indicating that Wangchuk's campaign raised an issue affecting millions of young people. The actor's support adds to a growing list of voices from the Hindi film industry that have spoken in favour of the activist's demands. Several public figures have called for greater accountability and stronger measures to safeguard the integrity of competitive examinations in India.

Other members of the film fraternity who have publicly supported Wangchuk include Sonakshi Sinha, filmmaker Kiran Rao and veteran actors Shabana Azmi and Naseeruddin Shah. Their statements have drawn wider public attention to the ongoing protest, which has centred on concerns over transparency and fairness in the country's examination system. The issue has sparked debate across political and social circles, particularly among students and parents affected by allegations surrounding the NEET examination.

Wangchuk has repeatedly stated that his protest is intended to seek accountability for the alleged examination irregularities and restore confidence in the country's education system. Before being hospitalised, he urged supporters to continue their peaceful campaign and reiterated his commitment to raising the issue before lawmakers. Doctors had earlier warned that his prolonged fast posed serious health risks, including the possibility of organ failure, prompting authorities to intervene.

The activist's hospitalisation marks a significant development in the ongoing agitation, even as support continues to grow from public figures, civil society groups and sections of the entertainment industry.
