The makers of devotional drama Hanuman Ansh have revealed that the film is being planned as a trilogy, while leaving open the possibility of featuring celebrity devotees of Neem Karoli Baba, including Anushka Sharma, Virat Kohli and Julia Roberts, in future instalments. Producer Namrata Singh said she had reached out to some of the personalities, but indicated that their involvement has not been confirmed.
Speaking about the film’s success, Singh said Hanuman Ansh was conceived by writer-director Vishal Chaturvedi based on his book Divine Detour: That Changed My Life. The first film focuses on the early life of Neem Karoli Baba, tracing his journey from Lakshmi Narayan in pre-Independence India to his spiritual transformation and eventual arrival at Kainchi.
According to Singh, the second part of the proposed trilogy will centre on Kainchi and the Indian devotees whose lives were influenced by the spiritual leader. She said the filmmakers wanted to give priority to the thousands of followers in India before exploring the wider international impact of Baba’s teachings and influence.

The third instalment is expected to take an international direction, examining how Neem Karoli Baba’s spiritual influence reached prominent figures abroad. Singh mentioned personalities such as Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg, Twitter founder Jack Dorsey and Julia Roberts in connection with this broader chapter, while clarifying that such stories would be explored later in the trilogy.
Hanuman Ansh, starring Shobhinaw Satyaa in the titular role, was released in theatres on August 7 on a modest budget. Although its initial performance was slow, positive word of mouth helped the film gain momentum. According to trade estimates cited in the report, the film has collected approximately ₹173.63 crore net, and it received a worldwide release on September 11 with Hombale Films handling distribution.
The film’s success has drawn attention from political and public figures, with the team recently meeting Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had earlier attended a special screening and described the film as a spiritual movie worth watching. While celebrity cameos remain uncertain, the producers have indicated that the sequel will continue expanding the story of Neem Karoli Baba’s life and influence.
