Actor Sara Arjun, who has drawn widespread attention for her powerful performance in Dhurandhar, has spoken about the turning point that led her to continue acting despite earlier plans to focus on higher studies. Since the film’s release on December 5, 2025, Sara has been praised for her portrayal of Yalina Jamali, the rebellious daughter of Pakistani politician Jameel Jamali, played by Rakesh Bedi.
In a recent interview with ETimes, Sara revealed that her career trajectory shifted after Ponniyin Selvan 2. She said that while she had initially planned to pursue acting studies at the Strasberg Theatre Institute, the surge of meaningful film offers compelled her to rethink her decision. Among these, Euphoria and Magic stood out due to their strong themes and social relevance.
Sara explained that these stories resonated with her beyond artistic ambition. She felt a responsibility, as a young actor, to be part of narratives that address pressing societal issues and encourage reflection. According to her, this deeper human connection to the scripts ultimately influenced her choice to take up films before heading abroad for further education.
