Bollywood icon Govinda was urgently admitted to CritiCare Hospital in Mumbai’s Juhu area late Tuesday night after collapsing unconscious at his residence, sending shockwaves through the film industry and his massive fan base. The 61-year-old actor experienced severe disorientation that caused him to faint, prompting immediate medical intervention and emergency hospitalization at 1 am.
According to Govinda’s close friend and legal advisor Lalit Bindal, the actor received preliminary medication via telephonic consultation with a doctor before being rushed to the hospital. Upon arrival, he was placed under intensive observation, with a battery of diagnostic tests ordered to determine the underlying cause of the sudden collapse. Medical staff are closely monitoring his condition as they await critical test reports.
This alarming incident comes just over a year after Govinda survived a life-threatening accident in October 2024, when his licensed revolver accidentally discharged while he was preparing for a flight to Kolkata. The bullet struck his leg below the knee, causing profuse bleeding that required emergency surgery and ICU admission at the same CritiCare Hospital. The actor later recounted the terrifying moment, describing how the gun slipped from his hand and fired unexpectedly.

Govinda’s manager confirmed at the time that the actor was handling the firearm while storing it in a cupboard early in the morning when the mishap occurred. Despite the severity of the injury, he made a full recovery after an hour-long operation to remove the bullet and was discharged within days, expressing gratitude to his medical team and fans for their support.
As of now, no official medical bulletin has been released regarding Govinda’s current condition, and his family and team have maintained silence beyond confirming the hospitalization. Fans across the country have flooded social media with prayers and messages of concern, hoping for the swift recovery of the beloved star known for his energetic performances and enduring popularity in Indian cinema.
