Telugu superstar and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has wrapped up his portions for the highly anticipated action drama 'Ustaad Bhagat Singh', marking the completion of a major shooting schedule. Directed by Harish Shankar, known for their blockbuster collaboration 'Gabbar Singh' in 2012, the film features Kalyan as an IPS officer who fakes his death along with his daughter after his family's murder by old enemies. The project, produced by Mythri Movie Makers, boasts music by Devi Sri Prasad and reunites Kalyan with leading ladies Sreeleela and Raashii Khanna.
Khanna shared a heartfelt selfie from the set on Instagram on Saturday, capturing a moment with Kalyan during the final days of filming. "It's a wrap for @pawankalyan garu for #UstaadBhagatSingh. It has been amazing sharing this film with him, a true honour and a memory I will always cherish," she captioned the post, expressing gratitude for the collaboration. The production house echoed the sentiment on social media, hailing Kalyan's performance as a "feast for fans" and urging the public to avoid sharing leaked set photos.
Originally announced as a remake of Vijay's 2016 Tamil hit 'Theri', the script evolved into an original narrative under Shankar's vision, blending high-octane action with emotional depth. The team recently completed the climax sequence in July, choreographed by action masters Ram-Laxman, and a song shoot featuring Kalyan and Sreeleela in August. Despite Kalyan's demanding political duties since assuming office in June 2024, he allocated bulk dates to ensure swift progress, wrapping three films this year alone.

'Ustaad Bhagat Singh' is slated for a 2026 release, promising a pan-India appeal with its mass entertainer vibe. Meanwhile, Kalyan's immediate focus shifts to 'They Call Him OG', directed by Sujeeth, set for a multilingual theatrical debut on September 25, 2025, in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi. Fans are buzzing over these milestones, viewing them as a fitting cinematic send-off before Kalyan potentially prioritises politics, though no official retirement announcement has been confirmed.
