Yamaha Motor India has launched the all-new FZ Rave, expanding its popular FZ lineup in the country. Priced from Rs 1.17 lakh (ex-showroom), the latest addition to the series brings a sportier design, updated features, and a more muscular stance aimed at attracting young riders. The launch coincides with the company’s unveiling of two new electric scooters—the Aerox e and EC-06—marking Yamaha’s growing focus on both conventional and electric two-wheelers in India.
The Yamaha FZ Rave introduces an aggressive new styling language, featuring a unique headlamp design that enhances its streetfighter persona. The fuel tank gets a sculpted, aerodynamic look with faux air vents on both sides, adding to its dynamic character. Complementing this muscular silhouette is a single-piece seat setup and newly designed body panels that give the motorcycle a clean yet edgy appearance. Customers can choose between two color variants: Matte Titan and Metallic Black.
The motorcycle also features a negative LCD digital instrument cluster, providing access to crucial ride information with improved visibility. While Yamaha has not announced major mechanical changes, the FZ Rave is expected to continue using the brand’s tried-and-tested 149cc single-cylinder engine delivering refined performance, strong mid-range torque, and efficiency suited for both city and highway rides.

In terms of features, Yamaha continues to emphasize rider comfort and control. The FZ Rave is expected to include a lightweight chassis for improved handling, a wide rear tyre for stability, and front and rear disc brakes with single-channel ABS. These updates put it squarely in competition with segment favorites like the TVS Apache RTR 160, Hero Xtreme 160R, and Suzuki Gixxer 155—all offering performance and tech-driven options for young urban riders.
With the launch of the FZ Rave, Yamaha further cements its presence in the competitive 150cc segment while simultaneously signaling its dual-focus strategy on traditional petrol and upcoming electric mobility. The company’s simultaneous reveal of the XSR 155 and electric scooters underlines its intent to cater to both nostalgia-driven enthusiasts and next-generation eco-conscious commuters.
