Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer VinFast has officially introduced its VF MPV 7 in India, marking the company’s entry into the seven-seater electric MPV segment. The model is positioned as the brand’s third electric offering in the country and is expected to compete with established players in the growing electric MPV market, including BYD eMax 7 and Kia Carens Clavis EV.
The VF MPV 7 has been designed to target both urban families and long-distance travellers, offering a claimed driving range of over 500 km on a single charge, depending on the variant. The model is expected to feature multiple battery pack options, including a 59.6 kWh unit and a larger 70.8 kWh pack, allowing buyers to choose based on performance and range requirements.
One of the key highlights of the VF MPV 7 is its fast-charging capability, which allows the battery to charge from 10% to 70% in approximately 24 minutes. This feature is aimed at reducing downtime during long journeys and improving practicality for highway usage, making it more competitive in the evolving electric vehicle segment.

VinFast is offering the MPV 7 in multiple variants, including Earth, Wind, Wind Infinity, Sky, and Sky Infinity trims. These variants are expected to differ in features, battery configurations, and motor setups, providing customers with a range of options based on budget and preference. The model has already opened for bookings in India at a token amount of Rs 21,000.
Industry estimates suggest that the VF MPV 7 could be priced between Rs 21 lakh and Rs 27 lakh, depending on the variant and battery option. The pricing strategy places it in direct competition with other premium electric MPVs, as automakers increasingly focus on expanding their presence in the seven-seater EV segment.
With its launch, VinFast is aiming to strengthen its footprint in the Indian electric vehicle market, where demand for family-orientated EVs is steadily growing. The VF MPV 7’s combination of long range, fast charging, and multiple variants is expected to play a key role in attracting buyers looking for practical and affordable electric mobility solutions.
