JSW MG Motor India has increased the prices of its Windsor EV by up to ₹60,000 across all variants, with the revised rates coming into effect in July 2026, in a move attributed to rising production costs and broader price adjustments across the automobile sector. The MG Windsor EV, which is currently one of the company’s best-selling electric models, is offered in five variants, each of which has received a price revision. The highest hike has been applied to the base Excite variant, which has increased by ₹60,000. Its earlier price of ₹14.10 lakh has now been revised to ₹14.70 lakh, marking an increase of around 4.26 percent.
The mid-range variants have also seen notable adjustments. The Exclusive variant is now priced at ₹16 lakh, reflecting an increase of ₹46,900, or 3.02 percent. Similarly, the Essence variant has also become costlier by ₹46,900, with its new price set at ₹17 lakh, representing a 2.84 percent hike over the previous rate. Higher variants in the lineup have also been revised. The Exclusive Pro variant now carries a price tag of ₹17.90 lakh after an increase of ₹52,000, which translates to a 2.99 percent rise.
Meanwhile, the top-end Essence Pro variant has become costlier by ₹40,000 and is now priced at ₹19 lakh, marking a 2.15 percent increase. The company has attributed the price revision to increased input and production costs, a trend that has been affecting the automobile industry in recent months. Several other automakers, including Kia and Toyota, have also undertaken similar price hikes across their respective model ranges, citing similar cost pressures.

The MG Windsor EV, which is positioned as a key model in the brand’s electric vehicle portfolio, has been a strong performer in the Indian market. Its popularity has been driven by its competitive pricing, dual battery pack options and positioning in the growing mid-range EV segment, which continues to see increasing consumer demand. Industry observers note that rising costs of raw materials, battery components and supply chain adjustments have been contributing factors behind periodic price revisions across the EV segment.
As manufacturers balance competitiveness with profitability, such adjustments have become increasingly common in the evolving electric mobility landscape. Despite the price increase, the Windsor EV is expected to remain a significant contributor to MG Motor’s sales in India, particularly as demand for electric vehicles continues to expand in urban and semi-urban markets. Further updates on offers, financing options or additional model revisions are expected to be announced by the company in the coming months.
