Honda Cars India has quietly reduced the price of its City e:HEV hybrid sedan by Rs 95,010, bringing the ex-showroom cost of the sole ZX variant to Rs 19,89,990. This 4.56% price cut follows the discontinuation of the base V variant, which previously started at Rs 19,00,100. The move comes alongside the launch of the City Sport Edition, a cosmetically enhanced version of the standard sedan.
The Honda City e:HEV remains the only hybrid sedan in its segment, competing with the Volkswagen Virtus, Skoda Slavia, and Hyundai Verna, while also rivaling hybrid SUVs like the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder in a similar price range. Powered by a 1.5-liter petrol engine and two electric motors, the City Hybrid delivers a combined 124.27 hp and 253 Nm of torque through an e-CVT transmission, boasting an impressive fuel efficiency of 27.26 kmpl.
Equipped with Honda Sensing technology, the sedan offers advanced driver-assistance systems, including adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, auto high beam, and collision mitigation braking. It also features a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a spacious cabin, and a premium comfort package, making it a compelling choice for eco-conscious buyers seeking efficiency and sophistication.
