Ather Energy Limited has taken a significant step in its global expansion by launching the Rizta electric scooter in Sri Lanka at the Colombo Motor Show 2025. Partnering with Evolution Auto Pvt. Ltd., its authorised distributor in Sri Lanka, this launch follows the company’s entry into the country in December 2024 with the Ather 450X, further strengthening its footprint in strategically important international markets.
Since its debut in Sri Lanka, Ather has established 40 experience centres and deployed Ather Grid fast chargers to improve the EV ecosystem and support electric vehicle ownership in the island nation. Ravneet Singh Phokela, Chief Business Officer at Ather Energy, highlighted that the Rizta, which has been well-received in India and Nepal, is well suited for the needs of Sri Lankan riders due to its focus on safety, comfort, and connected features.
The Rizta offers a spacious ride experience with a large seat, 34 litres of under-seat storage, and a roomy floorboard providing ample leg-space. It also integrates advanced safety technology such as SkidControl™ and comes with a 7-inch TFT display dashboard featuring Google Maps navigation, music, and call controls, enhancing the user experience, particularly in the Rizta Z variant.

Building on its international journey that began with Nepal in 2023, Ather continues to expand its product catalog and support infrastructure globally. With a strong retail network in India comprising over 500 experience centres and thousands of fast-charging stations, Ather aims to replicate this success abroad as it deepens its presence in key markets like Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka’s growing adoption of electric vehicles, driven by rising fuel costs and environmental awareness, positions it as a vital market for Ather’s family scooter offering. The Rizta launch signals Ather’s commitment to providing practical, technology-forward EV solutions worldwide, contributing to sustainable urban mobility growth.
