Jamie Lee Curtis Plans Hollywood Exit
Jamie Lee Curtis to Quit Hollywood!
Oscar-winning actor Jamie Lee Curtis, 66, has revealed plans to leave Hollywood, driven by the painful rejection her star parents, Janet Leigh and Tony Curtis, faced as they aged. In an interview with The Guardian on July 28, 2025, Curtis shared how she witnessed her parents’ fame and livelihood erode as the industry sidelined them. “I watched their success slowly erode to where it was gone. That’s very painful,” she said. Determined to avoid a similar fate, she added, “I want to leave the party before I’m no longer invited.”
Curtis, set to star in Freakier Friday, the sequel to the 2003 hit Freaky Friday, will reunite with Lindsay Lohan in the Disney film, releasing August 8, 2025. Directed by Nisha Ganatra, the movie picks up years after the original, where Curtis and Lohan played a mother-daughter duo whose souls swapped after a mystical restaurant visit. The new installment features Julia Butters, Manny Jacinto, and Chad Michael Murray, promising fresh chaos.
Based on Mary Rodgers’ 1972 novel, Curtis’s role in the franchise remains a career highlight. Her decision to step back reflects a proactive stance against Hollywood’s ageism, ensuring she exits on her terms.
