Ravi Shastri's Question On Milk Draws Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's Viral Reply

Teen batter's witty answer during interview quickly gains attention online.

Rajasthan Royals batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi added another memorable chapter to his remarkable IPL 2026 campaign with a light-hearted exchange involving former India captain Ravi Shastri during the post-final presentation ceremony. The 15-year-old prodigy, who dominated the season with the bat, became the centre of attention after collecting an unprecedented five individual awards following the conclusion of the tournament.

Sooryavanshi's outstanding performances throughout the season earned him the Most Valuable Player award, the Orange Cap, Emerging Player of the Season, Super Striker of the Season and the award for hitting the most sixes. His haul of honours underlined the impact he had on the tournament and reinforced his status as one of the brightest young talents in world cricket.

During the awards ceremony, Shastri invited the teenager for a brief conversation on stage. Impressed by Sooryavanshi's power-hitting ability and clean ball-striking despite his young age, the former India coach jokingly asked him how much milk he drank every day. The question drew laughter from the audience, but Sooryavanshi's response quickly became one of the most talked-about moments of the evening when he replied, smiling, that he no longer drinks milk.

Beyond the viral interaction, Sooryavanshi's achievements on the field were historic. At just 15 years and 65 days old, he became the youngest player ever to win the Orange Cap, surpassing the previous record held by Gujarat Titans opener Sai Sudharsan. The teenager finished the season as the leading run-scorer with 776 runs from 16 innings, a tally that remained unmatched even after the IPL final.

His aggressive batting style emerged as one of the defining features of IPL 2026. Sooryavanshi consistently attacked bowlers from the outset and maintained a scoring rate rarely seen in the tournament's history. His fearless approach helped Rajasthan Royals remain competitive throughout the season and earned widespread praise from former cricketers, commentators and fans.

Perhaps the most remarkable statistic from his campaign was his record-breaking six-hitting. Sooryavanshi smashed 72 sixes during the season, eclipsing the long-standing IPL record of 59 set by Chris Gayle. The achievement established a new benchmark for power-hitting in the league and capped a breakthrough season that is likely to be remembered as one of the most extraordinary performances by a young player in IPL history.
