Reddy excelled in Australia T20Is, while Farhan’s record-breaking World Cup run earned ICC’s February honours.
India pacer Arundhati Reddy and Pakistan opener Sahibzada Farhan have been named the ICC Players of the Month for February, following standout performances in international T20 cricket. The awards, announced on Monday by the International Cricket Council, recognize their match-winning contributions during the period.
Reddy earned the women’s honour for her exceptional showing in India’s T20I series victory over Australia. The medium pacer played a crucial role in the 2-1 series win, emerging as the leading wicket-taker with consistent performances across all three matches. Her figures of 4/22, 2/30, and 2/35 underlined her impact, as she finished the series with an impressive average of 10.87 and an economy rate of 7.25.
Reacting to the accolade, Reddy described the recognition as a “real honour,” emphasizing the significance of contributing to a series win in Australia. She noted that victories on Australian soil are particularly challenging, making the achievement even more meaningful. The pacer also highlighted that the result provides India with momentum ahead of the upcoming ICC Women's T20 World Cup, where the team aims to build on its balanced squad and recent success.

In the men’s category, Farhan was rewarded for his extraordinary performances in the ongoing ICC Men's T20 World Cup. The Pakistan opener delivered a record-breaking campaign, surpassing Virat Kohli’s tally for the most runs in a single edition of the tournament. He also became the first player to score two centuries in one edition, achieving the feat against Namibia and Sri Lanka.
Farhan amassed 383 runs in seven matches at a remarkable average of 76.60, coupled with a strike rate exceeding 160. His consistency and ability to dominate bowling attacks set him apart from other contenders for the monthly award. Notably, performances from the later stages of the tournament, including the Super Eight phase and knockout rounds, will be considered in the next evaluation cycle.
The recognition of Reddy and Farhan highlights the growing depth of talent in international cricket, with both players delivering performances that significantly influenced their teams’ success. As global competitions continue, their form will be closely watched in the coming months.
