"Time for DMK's exit," Tamilisai Declares After Stalin's Anti-BJP Rally

Tamilisai predicts DMK’s ouster in 2026 election.

Former Governor and BJP leader Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan launched a scathing attack on Tamil Nadu’s ruling DMK government, boldly predicting that the “anti-people” party will be “chased away” by voters in the 2026 Assembly election. Her fiery remarks came in response to Chief Minister M K Stalin’s claim at the DMK’s annual Mupperum Vizha event in Karur, where he declared “no entry” for the BJP in Tamil Nadu, citing its alleged repressive policies and dominance. Tamilisai, undeterred, asserted that the time has come for the DMK’s exit, accusing the party of failing the people and shielding corrupt leaders.

Tamilisai singled out Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, accusing him of “hurting Hindu sentiments” and predicting his ouster from office post-2026. She criticized the DMK’s leadership for praising former minister V Senthil Balaji, who faces corruption charges, for organizing the party’s event. “Senthil Balaji ought to be in jail, yet the CM lauds him,” she remarked, questioning Stalin’s integrity for defending a “tainted” leader he once opposed as the opposition leader.

Tamilisai further highlighted that seven to eight DMK ministers are embroiled in corruption allegations, challenging the party’s claims of championing state rights while neglecting local governance, such as village panchayats.

The BJP leader also took aim at the DMK’s allies, accusing them of lacking the courage to criticize the government openly, suggesting a lack of democracy within the DMK-led coalition. In contrast, she praised the NDA allies for their freedom to express views democratically, positioning the BJP-led alliance as a more transparent alternative.

Tamilisai’s remarks have stirred political tensions, with the DMK’s “no entry” stance met with her bold prediction of a voter backlash. As Tamil Nadu gears up for the 2026 elections, her comments signal an intensifying battle between the DMK and BJP, with both sides vying to sway public sentiment in a state known for its fiercely contested political landscape.
