Priyanka Joins Rahul’s Bike Ride in Bihar Campaign

Rahul, Priyanka thrill crowds on bike during yatra.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav turned heads in Muzaffarpur, Bihar,  as they roared through the streets on motorcycles during the ongoing ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’. With senior Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra riding pillion on her brother’s bike, the trio drew massive crowds, marking a high-energy moment in the 1,300-km campaign launched on August 17 from Sasaram. The yatra, set to culminate in a grand rally in Patna on September 1, is gaining momentum, with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin expected to join later today.

The motorcycle ride, echoing a similar stunt in Araria on August 24, showcased the leaders’ attempt to connect with the masses in a unique way. As the yatra moved from Darbhanga into Muzaffarpur, enthusiastic supporters lined the roads, cheering and waving flags, captivated by the unconventional approach. Priyanka’s presence added a familial touch, amplifying the event’s appeal and signaling a united front for the opposition alliance.

Rahul, the Lok Sabha Leader of the Opposition, seized the opportunity to address critical issues during a rally in Darbhanga the previous day. He accused the BJP and the Election Commission of undermining democracy through what he called “vote chori” (vote theft), pointing to the special revision of electoral rolls in Bihar as evidence. “People are calling BJP leaders ‘vote chor’,” he declared, urging citizens to protect their voting rights and the Constitution.

The yatra’s bold tactics and Rahul’s fiery rhetoric have sparked widespread debate, with some praising the innovative outreach while others question its impact. As the campaign progresses, the inclusion of high-profile figures like Stalin could further intensify the political narrative, making this a defining moment for the opposition ahead of future elections. The motorcycle rides, blending spectacle with substance, are redefining political engagement in the region.
