Rajasthan Lab Assistant Exam Enforces Strict Dress Code; Mangalsutra, Bangles Removed At Entry
Strict security and dress code enforcement at Rajasthan lab assistant exam sparks controversy in Tonk district.
The Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSMSSB) laboratory assistant recruitment examination was conducted under strict security arrangements across Tonk district, where large-scale preparations were made to manage the massive turnout of candidates. The examination was held at 29 centres and witnessed participation from 47,457 registered candidates. Authorities maintained heightened vigilance throughout the district to ensure a fair, orderly, and malpractice-free examination process.
Security measures were significantly tightened at all examination centres, with police personnel deployed in and around venues to monitor crowd movement and prevent any irregularities. Entry gates were closed one hour before the scheduled start time, ensuring that no latecomers were allowed inside under any circumstances. Officials stated that these rules were strictly enforced to maintain discipline and avoid last-minute chaos at the centres.
Candidates were subjected to multiple layers of verification before entering the examination halls, including biometric authentication and facial recognition scanning. A strict dress code policy was also enforced, prohibiting jewellery, metal items, threads, pins, chains, and electronic devices inside centres. As a result, several female candidates were seen removing mangalsutras, bangles, and earrings at the entry points, as they complied with the mandatory security instructions.

Despite the rigorous checks and strict enforcement of rules, officials confirmed that the examination began on schedule and proceeded smoothly without any reported disturbances. The administration stated that these measures were necessary to uphold transparency and ensure that the recruitment process remained fair for all candidates. Surveillance teams also kept a close watch inside and outside examination centres throughout the day.
To support candidates coming from different parts of the state, the Rajasthan government arranged free transportation through Rajasthan Roadways buses, easing travel concerns for many aspirants. Examination coordinator and Additional District Magistrate Ramratan Sokaria said that a comprehensive monitoring system had been put in place, including seven vigilance teams, 67 observers, and dedicated paper coordinators. A control room was also established to oversee real-time operations and ensure strict compliance with examination guidelines.
The laboratory assistant recruitment exam is being conducted in a phased manner, with one shift held on the first day and two shifts scheduled for May 10 across Tonk district. Officials confirmed that similar security protocols and monitoring systems will continue for all remaining sessions. The administration reiterated its commitment to conducting the recruitment process in a transparent and disciplined manner without any disruption.
