Rajasthan Faces Intense Heatwave As Barmer Hits State’s Highest Temperature
Barmer records 41.6°C as Rajasthan experiences rising heatwave conditions across multiple districts.
Heat conditions intensified across Rajasthan on Wednesday, with Barmer recording the highest maximum temperature at 41.6°C, followed closely by Kota at 41.5°C, as scorching summer weather continued to grip several parts of the state, according to the Meteorological Centre in Jaipur.
Officials reported that multiple districts experienced sharp daytime temperature spikes over the past 24 hours due to clear skies and strong, continuous sunshine. Along with Barmer and Kota, Jaisalmer, Churu, and Chittorgarh also saw maximum temperatures crossing the 40°C mark, signalling an early onset of severe summer conditions in western and eastern parts of Rajasthan.
The rising temperatures have been accompanied by hot winds sweeping across western Rajasthan during the daytime, significantly increasing discomfort levels for residents. Despite the intense heat during the day, some areas such as Jhunjhunu, Sikar, Alwar, and parts of Nagaur experienced light cloud cover in the evening, bringing brief and limited relief through mild breezes.
