PM Modi Advises Ministers To Use Social Media For Youth Engagement

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has advised Union ministers to expand their digital outreach by actively using platforms such as Instagram to connect with India's younger population. During a Cabinet meeting in New Delhi, Modi encouraged ministers to use short-form videos, including Instagram Reels, and interactive sessions to communicate government initiatives and engage directly with citizens. The advice comes amid growing public discussions and protests over alleged irregularities in the NEET examination process.
Highlighting the widespread popularity of Instagram among young Indians, the Prime Minister said the platform offers an important opportunity for ministers to build direct communication channels with students and youth. He suggested that ministers should move beyond traditional communication methods and adopt more engaging formats that allow people to understand policies, schemes, and government decisions in a simpler and more accessible manner.
Modi reportedly emphasized that interactive content could help ministers respond to public concerns and create greater awareness about government work. By encouraging regular digital engagement, the Prime Minister called for a more direct connection between policymakers and citizens, particularly younger generations who increasingly rely on social media platforms for information and discussions.

The push for greater social media engagement came shortly after Modi shared a video message on Instagram and other platforms addressing concerns related to examination malpractices. In the message, he spoke about steps being considered by the government to tackle paper leaks and protect the interests of students affected by such incidents.
The Prime Minister also announced plans to introduce stronger legal measures against examination-related fraud, including provisions for fast-track courts to handle paper leak cases. The proposal was set to be discussed by the Union Cabinet before being presented in Parliament. The government's increased focus on digital communication and examination reforms comes at a time when student protests continue over demands for greater transparency and accountability in the education system.
