527 people rescued from flood-affected areas across Madhya Pradesh.
A total of 527 people have been rescued from flood-affected areas of Madhya Pradesh amid continued rainfall and rising water levels in rivers and streams, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said on Tuesday. The Chief Minister reviewed the situation from the State Disaster Management Situation Room and directed officials to continue rescue and relief operations.
Yadav visited the Home Guards headquarters in Bhopal and assessed the situation in different parts of the state through video conferencing with officials. He also interacted with some of the rescued people, enquired about their well-being and reviewed the assistance being provided to those affected by the flooding.
The Chief Minister noted that Madhya Pradesh has received around 15 per cent less rainfall than normal this year, but heavy rain in specific areas has caused localised flooding and dangerous rises in water levels. He said rescue teams were working continuously to respond to emergencies and ensure the safety of residents.

Among those rescued were seven Kanwariyas in Khandwa, where a sudden rise in the water level of a river created a dangerous situation. Yadav praised the rescue teams for their efforts and directed field personnel to take immediate action wherever required as weather conditions continue to change.
Yadav urged residents living near rivers and streams to exercise particular caution during periods of heavy rainfall. He advised people to seek assistance from neighbouring districts if necessary and stressed that the government was monitoring developments across the state from the state level.
The Chief Minister directed officials and rescue personnel to maintain relief operations and respond promptly to emerging situations. With rainfall continuing in several parts of Madhya Pradesh, authorities are keeping a close watch on water levels and vulnerable areas while prioritising the safety and assistance of affected residents.
