J&K Medical Fraternity Condemns Red Fort Bombing, Calls Alleged Doctor Involvement a ‘Grotesque Betrayal’
Kashmiri medical bodies condemn Delhi blast, demand justice.
In an unprecedented and powerful demonstration of unity rarely witnessed in Jammu & Kashmir, seven leading medical associations and student organisations have jointly condemned the November 10 suicide car bombing near Delhi’s historic Red Fort that killed 15 innocent civilians and injured scores more, unequivocally labelling the attack as a “cowardly, barbaric, and utterly senseless” assault on humanity while expressing profound anguish over reports implicating members of their own profession in the terrorist conspiracy.
The Doctors Association Jammu (DAJ), representing hundreds of practitioners across the Jammu region, issued a scathing statement describing the alleged involvement of doctors in orchestrating or executing the blast as “a grotesque betrayal of the sacred Hippocratic Oath and an indelible stain on the centuries-old noble medical profession.” Its president, Dr Balvinder Singh, declared that any individual who perverts medical knowledge for violence “immediately forfeits the moral and professional right to be addressed as a healer” and must be subjected to the most stringent punishment permissible under law, regardless of background or qualification.
The Jammu & Kashmir Medical Students Association (JKMSA), voicing the sentiments of thousands of future doctors, termed the revelations “deeply disturbing and morally repugnant,” stressing that training designed to preserve life cannot be reconciled with its deliberate destruction. The association placed complete trust in the ongoing National Investigation Agency probe, urged society to remain vigilant against radicalisation of educated youth through encrypted online platforms, and called for decisive action to prevent exploitation of professional networks by anti-national elements.

Separate but equally forceful statements from the Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK), Society of Consultant Doctors J&K, Medical Faculty Association of Government Medical College and Government Dental College Srinagar, and the J&K Students Association had already reverberated across the Valley and beyond, branding the attack “inhuman,” “unacceptable in any civilised society,” and a “grave betrayal of the ethics of healing.” The J&K Students Association, representing medical, nursing, and pharmacy students, explicitly rejected attempts to stereotype or profile Kashmiri youth, asserting in unequivocal terms that “every Kashmiri is an Indian unconditionally” and that “terror has no religion, no region, and no identity.”
United in purpose, the entire medical fraternity of Jammu & Kashmir has reaffirmed its unbreakable commitment to the principles of healing, humanitarian service, and national integrity, declaring that neither acts of terror nor the alleged perversion of their sacred profession by a few can erode their collective resolve to protect lives and uphold the dignity of the white coat, while demanding an expedited, transparent, and impartial investigation into the role of all accused, including the identified suicide bomber, Kashmiri doctor Umar un Nabi.
