Himachal’s Healthcare Revolution: Robotic Surgeons to Transform Hospitals.
Himachal Pradesh to recruit robotic surgeons and launch advanced surgery services, revolutionizing healthcare.
Himachal Pradesh is gearing up for a medical revolution as the state government, led by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, announces plans to recruit specialist robotic surgeons to introduce cutting-edge robotic surgery services across its hospitals. The bold initiative, revealed during a health department meeting, aims to elevate healthcare to world-class standards, rivaling top institutions like AIIMS Delhi.
A proposal for recruitment rules is set to hit the state Cabinet soon, paving the way for these high-tech surgeons to join government hospitals. Beyond performing precise, minimally invasive procedures, these experts will train other doctors, creating a skilled, tech-savvy medical workforce ready for the future. The Atal Institute of Medical Super-Speciality in Chamiyana will lead the charge, with robotic surgery services launching soon, followed closely by Dr. Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College in Tanda.
Chief Minister Sukhu didn’t stop there, directing officials to install robotic surgical systems at Hamirpur Medical College and Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC) in Shimla, ensuring advanced care reaches every corner of the state. To bolster this transformation, the government is fast-tracking recruitment, with 100 new medical officers and 50 nurses slated for Chamiyana, alongside paramedical staff and technicians to strengthen healthcare infrastructure.
