Gurugram Shocker: Father’s Rage Over Music Video and Academy Sparks Deadly Clash!
Radhika Yadav, a 25-year-old national-level tennis player, was shot dead by her father in Gurugram over tensions fueled by her tennis academy and a music video appearance.
In a tragic incident, 25-year-old national-level tennis player Radhika Yadav was fatally shot by her father, Deepak Yadav, at their Sushant Lok Phase 2 residence in Gurugram’s Sector 57 on Thursday. The killing, which occurred around 10:30 AM while Radhika was cooking, stemmed from ongoing family disputes over her financial independence, her tennis academy, and her appearance in a music video, according to police reports.
Deepak, 49, confessed to firing five rounds from his licensed .32 bore revolver, three of which struck Radhika in the back, killing her instantly. Her uncle, Kuldeep Yadav, who lives on the ground floor, heard the gunshots and found Radhika in a pool of blood in the kitchen, with the revolver in the drawing room. Kuldeep and his son rushed her to Asia Maringo Hospital, where she was declared dead.
The motive, as revealed in Deepak’s confession, was rooted in his humiliation over villagers in Wazirabad taunting him for “living off” Radhika’s earnings from her tennis academy. He also objected to her social media activity, particularly her role in the music video “Karwaan” by artist INAAM, released a year ago, which he demanded she remove. Radhika, a former state and national-level player with an ITF doubles ranking of 113, had shifted to coaching after a shoulder injury but refused to close her academy, escalating tensions.

Radhika’s mother, Manju Yadav, present during the incident, cited illness and provided no written statement. The Gurugram Police have arrested Deepak, seized the revolver, and are continuing their investigation into the family dynamics that led to this shocking crime.
