CJP Protest Enters Second Day: Dipke Calls Farmers and Students to Join Jantar Mantar Sit-In

CJP protest enters second day; Dipke urges farmers and students to join.

The protest led by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) against Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan entered its second day on Sunday, with demonstrators refusing to leave Delhi's Jantar Mantar despite police instructions to vacate the site. The agitation, centred on alleged irregularities in examinations and recruitment tests, gained momentum as CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke called on citizens from across the country to join the movement and support students.

The second day of the protest witnessed a larger turnout, with demonstrators gathering at Jantar Mantar carrying steel plates and raising slogans demanding the resignation of the Education Minister. Protesters maintained that they would continue their sit-in until their demands were met. The issue has drawn attention because it coincides with the NEET UG 2026 re-examination being conducted for more than 22 lakh candidates across the country.

Addressing supporters, Dipke appealed to students, farmers and members of the public to participate in the protest. He urged NEET aspirants to join the demonstration after completing their examinations and stressed that broader public support was necessary for the movement to succeed. According to protest organisers, the agitation is aimed at ensuring accountability over alleged examination-related irregularities.

The protest continued overnight after Delhi Police informed demonstrators that the permission granted for the gathering had expired at 5 p.m. on Saturday. While authorities asked the protesters to vacate the venue, Dipke and his supporters remained at the site. He stated that the group would continue its sit-in until an alternative location was provided or their demands were addressed.

Protest organisers also alleged that access to basic facilities at the venue had been restricted. They claimed that lights were switched off and access to water, food and restroom facilities had been limited. However, protesters later stated that water supply was restored and lighting arrangements were resumed after concerns were raised. Dipke additionally requested police authorities not to interfere with access to essential facilities for those participating in the demonstration.

The ongoing protest has attracted support from various groups and public figures, including climate activist Sonam Wangchuk, whose participation was recently defended by leaders from Ladakh. As the agitation enters a crucial second day, attention remains focused on whether the demonstrations will expand further and how the government responds to the growing demands for accountability and political action.
