Dharmendra Pradhan Reviews Arrangements Ahead of NEET-UG Re-Exam in Key Meeting

NEET-UG re-exam preparations reviewed in high-level government meeting.

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan chaired a high-level review meeting on Thursday to assess preparedness for the upcoming NEET-UG re-examination scheduled for June 21. The meeting brought together senior officials from the Ministry of Education, the National Testing Agency (NTA), state governments, and representatives from higher educational institutions to ensure smooth and secure conduct of the exam across the country.

During the meeting, the minister directed all concerned authorities to remain fully vigilant and ensure that every necessary arrangement is in place for the fair and transparent conduct of the re-examination. Officials were instructed to closely coordinate with the NTA and local administration to prevent any disruption and maintain strict adherence to examination protocols.

The Ministry of Education stated that designated officers from the ministry will be deployed across all states and Union Territories to oversee arrangements on the ground. These officers will coordinate with state-level command centres and report to the central Command Centre headed by the Director General of the NTA, which is responsible for monitoring the examination process.

Authorities further confirmed that every state and Union Territory will set up its own command centre to monitor activities related to the re-examination. These centres will function as control hubs to track logistics, security arrangements, and candidate support systems. Officials added that ministry representatives will remain stationed until the completion of the examination process.

Senior officials including the Education Ministry’s School Education and Higher Education Secretaries stressed the importance of ensuring a stress-free environment for students. They urged state authorities to provide adequate facilities such as seating arrangements, drinking water, and smooth entry procedures to help candidates appear for the exam without difficulty.

The meeting, attended by around 222 participants in hybrid mode, also covered security protocols, grievance redressal systems, and inter-agency coordination. Officials from states, Union Territories, and centrally funded institutions assured full cooperation, stating that all measures are being taken to ensure a fair, transparent, and well-organised conduct of the NEET-UG re-examination.
