Siya Goyal's Parents Seek Strictest Punishment If She's Found Guilty In Pune Murder Case

Siya Goyal's parents seek strict punishment if convicted in murder.

The parents of Siya Goyal, the woman accused of murdering her fiancé Ketan Agarwal by allegedly pushing him off Maharashtra's Lohagad Fort, have said that if their daughter is found guilty in court, she deserves the harshest possible punishment. Speaking to reporters on Thursday, they stated that if the allegations are proven, Siya should be pushed from the same spot where Ketan allegedly fell to his death. Their remarks came amid ongoing investigations into a case that has shocked many due to the involvement of a couple who were just months away from their wedding. The incident, initially believed to be an accidental fall during a trek, has since been transformed into a high-profile murder investigation following police findings.

According to the police, 26-year-old Ketan Agarwal was allegedly murdered by his fiancée, Siya Goyal, along with her alleged lover, Chetan Babulal Chaudhary, at Lohagad Fort in the Sahyadri range near Pune. Investigators claim the duo pushed Ketan from the fort, resulting in his death. The incident was first reported as a trekking accident, but further investigation reportedly uncovered evidence suggesting that it was a planned act. Based on the findings, police arrested the accused and registered a murder case. Authorities continue to investigate the sequence of events, motive, and other circumstances surrounding the incident as legal proceedings move forward.

Speaking about the case, Siya's mother, Pooja Goyal, said her daughter had never indicated that she was unhappy with her relationship or unwilling to marry Ketan. She said the families were preparing for the couple's wedding, which was scheduled for November at a palace in Udaipur, Rajasthan. According to her, there were no visible signs of conflict or disagreement that could have suggested such a tragic outcome. Expressing disbelief over the allegations, she said the developments had left the family devastated. Despite being Siya's mother, she maintained that justice should take precedence and that the law should deal firmly with anyone found responsible for Ketan's death.

Pooja Goyal further said that the tragedy had destroyed not just Ketan's family but also her own, describing the emotional pain as unbearable. She said both families had been looking forward to the wedding and a shared future, making the allegations even more difficult to comprehend. Stressing that no one should receive special treatment because of family ties, she urged investigators and the judiciary to ensure a fair and impartial process. Her statement echoed the family's position that if Siya is ultimately convicted after due legal process, she should face the strictest punishment available under the law. The remarks have drawn significant public attention because they came from the accused's own parents.

The case has attracted widespread attention across the country due to its dramatic turn from an apparent accident to an alleged murder involving a couple set to marry. Police continue to gather evidence and examine all aspects of the case while the accused remain subject to legal proceedings. Investigators are also probing the alleged role of Chetan Babulal Chaudhary and the circumstances that may have led to the incident. As the matter is currently before the criminal justice system, the allegations against the accused remain subject to judicial scrutiny, and their guilt or innocence will ultimately be determined by the court based on the evidence presented during the trial.
