Firing at Diljit Dosanjh Manager's Karnal Home Triggers AAP-BJP Political Showdown

Firing at manager's farmhouse sparks AAP-BJP political war.

An alleged firing incident at the farmhouse of Gurpratap Singh Kang, manager of Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh, has triggered a political confrontation between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Haryana. The incident took place in Gondar village in Karnal district, where Haryana Police teams were deployed late Tuesday night after receiving information about suspected gunfire near the property. Authorities said the matter remains under investigation and no official link to any criminal gang has been established so far.

According to police officials, investigators recovered one or two empty shells from the area, but no substantial evidence confirming a major firing incident has yet emerged. Officials also stated that Kang’s family did not file any formal police complaint following the alleged attack. A senior Haryana Police officer declined to confirm social media claims that attempted to connect the incident with gangster Lawrence Bishnoi or any organised criminal network. Police teams are currently examining available evidence, questioning local residents, and reviewing CCTV footage from nearby areas to determine the sequence of events.

The incident soon escalated into a political controversy after AAP leaders accused the BJP of allegedly protecting gangster networks and using intimidation tactics against individuals unwilling to align politically with the ruling party. The allegations specifically referenced Lawrence Bishnoi, whose name has frequently surfaced in high-profile extortion and threat cases involving celebrities and businessmen. BJP leaders, however, strongly rejected the accusations, calling them politically motivated statements aimed at gaining attention ahead of elections and without any factual basis.

The controversy has once again drawn attention to concerns surrounding gangster activity and political rhetoric in northern India, particularly in Punjab and Haryana. While no injuries were reported in the Karnal incident, the case has generated significant public attention due to Diljit Dosanjh’s popularity and the sensitive nature of the allegations being exchanged between political parties. The Haryana Police have maintained that the investigation is ongoing and that conclusions will only be drawn after forensic analysis and further inquiry are completed.
