Spider-Man: Brand New Day Arrives With Record ₹45 Crore Advance Bookings
Spider-Man: Brand New Day releases today with record India advance bookings.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the fourth standalone Spider-Man film starring Tom Holland, has been released in Indian theatres on July 30, 2026, bringing the Marvel superhero back to a more grounded, street-level adventure following the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home. Produced by Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures, the film shifts away from multiverse-scale conflicts and instead focuses on Peter Parker's personal journey after Doctor Strange's spell erased his identity from the memories of everyone he knew. The film arrives in the United States a day later, on July 31, 2026.
Set four years after No Way Home, the story follows Peter Parker as he adjusts to a life in which his closest friends, including MJ and Ned, no longer recognise him. While continuing to protect New York City as Spider-Man, Peter struggles with isolation and attempts to rebuild his life. Along the way, he encounters new allies, confronts formidable adversaries and faces unexpected changes in his abilities, setting the stage for future developments in the Marvel Cinematic Universe ahead of Avengers: Doomsday.
Tom Holland reprises his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, with Zendaya returning as MJ and Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds. The ensemble cast also includes Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk, Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/The Punisher, Michael Mando as Mac Gargan/Scorpion, Tramell Tillman as Bill Metzger, Liza Colón-Zayas as Detective Jean DeWolff, Marvin Jones III as Tombstone and Sadie Sink, who makes her Marvel Cinematic Universe debut as Jean Grey.

The film is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton from a screenplay by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. Production duties are handled by Kevin Feige, Amy Pascal, Avi Arad and Rachel O'Connor, while Brett Pawlak serves as cinematographer. The musical score has been composed by Michael Giacchino, with editing by Nat Sanders, Gina Sansom and Harry Yoon. Reportedly produced on a budget of $225 million, the film ranks among Marvel Studios' most expensive productions in recent years.
Commercial expectations for the film are high, particularly in India, where advance bookings have reportedly set new records for a Hollywood release. According to reports, Spider-Man: Brand New Day generated approximately ₹45 crore in opening-day advance bookings before its release, with more than 800,000 tickets sold through BookMyShow. These figures reflect strong audience anticipation and position the film among the biggest Hollywood openings in the Indian market.
Ahead of its global release, the film received a 93 per cent critics' score on Rotten Tomatoes, contributing to positive early buzz among fans and critics alike. While the theatrical release has now begun in India, the makers have not yet announced an official streaming or over-the-top (OTT) release date. With its combination of a more personal narrative, returning fan-favourite characters and the introduction of new faces to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is expected to be one of the year's biggest blockbuster releases.
