Robert Pattinson Clarifies He Followed Strict Workout Routine for The Batman
Robert Pattinson clarifies intense training routine for The Batman.
British actor Robert Pattinson has clarified that he did not avoid physical training for his role in “The Batman”, rejecting long-standing rumours that he skipped gym workouts during preparation for the character of Bruce Wayne. The actor said the perception was based on a misunderstood comment from an earlier interview. He stressed that his preparation for the superhero role involved consistent and intensive physical training over an extended period.
Robert explained that he actually followed a strict workout routine, which at times included training twice a day. He noted that some of these sessions began as early as 3 a.m., highlighting the demanding nature of his preparation schedule. According to him, the idea that he did not train properly came from a casual joke he made in the past, which was taken out of context and widely circulated.
The actor, who is set to return in “The Batman: Part II”, said that the physical transformation required for the role was far more serious than the rumours suggested. He added that despite his efforts, he often feels his physique does not appear as dramatically changed as expected on screen. Robert also revealed that he has since installed a dedicated home gym at his Beverly Hills residence to maintain his fitness regime ahead of the sequel.

He further shared that he has not yet received a complete official filming schedule for the upcoming film. Instead, he said he has been learning about production timelines through conversations with his stunt coordinator. Robert mentioned that he was surprised to hear about the long night shoots planned for the project, which could extend up to 11 weeks.
The film “The Batman: Part II”, directed by Matt Reeves, is currently in production and continues the darker reimagining of the DC superhero universe. The sequel will feature returning cast members including Jeffrey Wright, Andy Serkis, Colin Farrell, and Barry Keoghan, alongside new additions. It is scheduled for release in the United States on October 1, 2027, and is expected to further expand the storyline introduced in the first film.
