Suzuki Unveils e-Sky, its First Electric Kei Car
Suzuki launches its first electric kei car globally.
Suzuki has unveiled the production-ready e-Sky, its first fully electric kei car, with the model designed to combine a compact urban footprint with an extended driving range. Developed under Japan's kei car regulations, the e-Sky features a tall, boxy profile intended to maximise cabin space while keeping the vehicle easy to manoeuvre in crowded city environments.
The e-Sky draws design inspiration from Suzuki's familiar compact-car styling, including elements reminiscent of the WagonR. Despite its small dimensions, the vehicle has been designed to provide a practical cabin with an emphasis on usable interior space. Its compact proportions are particularly suited to urban driving, where smaller vehicles can offer advantages in narrow streets and limited parking spaces.
Power comes from an electric motor producing 63 bhp, while the vehicle is claimed to offer a driving range of up to 310 km. The combination of a relatively compact body, electric powertrain and claimed range is aimed at making the e-Sky suitable for both daily commuting and longer urban journeys. Suzuki has positioned the model as an important addition to its growing electric vehicle portfolio.

Inside, the e-Sky features a technology-focused cabin with modern equipment intended to improve convenience and connectivity. The e-Sky has been developed with markets outside Japan in mind, including the United Kingdom. Suzuki's decision to prepare the model for international markets reflects its broader plans to expand its presence in the global electric vehicle segment. The company is increasingly looking to adapt its compact-car expertise to changing demand for lower-emission vehicles.
With its 63 bhp electric motor, claimed 310 km range and space-efficient design, the e-Sky represents Suzuki's entry into the electric kei-car segment.
