Xiaomi 17T and 17T Pro Go Official With Leica Optics and Android 16 Out of the Box

The Xiaomi 17T and 17T Pro debut globally with Leica cameras and Android 16-based HyperOS 3.

Xiaomi has officially launched its new Xiaomi 17T series in global markets, introducing the Xiaomi 17T and Xiaomi 17T Pro smartphones with upgraded displays, Leica-tuned camera systems, and large battery capacities. The latest lineup succeeds the Xiaomi 15T series and comes equipped with Android 16-based HyperOS 3. Both devices feature premium hardware specifications aimed at flagship smartphone users and are currently available in the United Kingdom and select European markets.

The Xiaomi 17T starts at EUR 749 for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant, while the 512GB model is priced at EUR 799. The handset is available in black, blue, opal white, and violet color options. Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 17T Pro begins at EUR 899 for the 12GB RAM and 512GB storage configuration. The higher-end variants with 512GB and 1TB storage are priced at EUR 999 and EUR 1,099, respectively. Xiaomi is offering the Pro model in deep blue, deep violet, and black shades.

Both smartphones feature AMOLED displays with 1.5K resolution and support for HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and high refresh rates. The standard Xiaomi 17T sports a 6.59-inch panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, while the Pro model gets a larger 6.83-inch display with refresh rates up to 144Hz. Xiaomi claims the screens can reach up to 3,500 nits of peak brightness and offer full DCI-P3 color gamut coverage, positioning the devices for premium multimedia and gaming experiences.

Under the hood, the Xiaomi 17T is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra chipset paired with Xiaomi’s proprietary Surge T1 Plus and T1S chips. The company has also included a 3D Ice Loop cooling system and support for Astro Communication technology, which reportedly enables offline communication over distances of up to 1.3 kilometers under specific conditions. The Xiaomi 17T Pro, meanwhile, is equipped with the flagship MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor aimed at delivering higher performance for demanding tasks and gaming.

Photography remains a major focus of the new lineup, with both smartphones featuring Leica Complete Camera systems. The devices include a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens. The key difference lies in the primary sensor, with the Xiaomi 17T using a 50-megapixel Light Fusion 800 sensor, while the Pro variant gets the more advanced 50-megapixel Light Fusion 950 sensor, which is also featured in the flagship Xiaomi 17 smartphone.

The Xiaomi 17T series also includes a 32-megapixel front-facing camera and support for 4K HDR10 video recording at up to 60 frames per second. Battery capacity differs slightly between the two devices, with the standard model featuring a 6,500mAh silicon-carbon battery supporting 67W wired fast charging. The Xiaomi 17T Pro houses a larger 7,000mAh battery with support for 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. With these upgrades, Xiaomi appears to be targeting users seeking premium camera features, long battery life, and flagship-level performance in the competitive global smartphone market.
