Vivo Y600i, Y600i AI Edition Spotted With 44W Charging in China

Vivo appears to be preparing several new smartphones for launch, with two upcoming Y-series models and another unidentified handset recently surfacing in China’s certification database. The Vivo Y600i and Vivo Y600i AI Edition have already been spotted in Google’s supported device records, and their latest appearance on the China Compulsory Certification (3C) platform has revealed details about their charging capabilities. Separately, another Vivo smartphone has reportedly received certification with support for a significantly faster charging rate, although its commercial name remains unknown.

According to a report by The Tech Outlook, Vivo model V2617A has received 3C certification in China with support for 44W wired charging. The listing identifies the device as a 5G smartphone and reportedly carries a certification date of September 10. While the certification does not reveal the complete specifications of the handset, it provides an indication of the charging capabilities that could be offered on the upcoming device.

The V2617A model number was previously associated with the Vivo Y600i and Vivo Y600i AI Edition in Google Play Console-supported device records. Both smartphones were listed with the same device code, suggesting that they may share similar hardware or core specifications. The AI Edition is expected to distinguish itself through additional artificial intelligence-based features, although details about those functions, software enhancements, and other specifications have not yet been disclosed.

The Vivo Y600i series is expected to expand the company’s Y600 lineup, which already includes the Vivo Y600 Pro and Vivo Y600 Turbo. The two existing models were launched in China in April and May, respectively. The standard Vivo Y600i is also expected to succeed the Vivo Y500i, which was introduced in China in January this year and featured a large 7,200mAh battery paired with 44W wired charging. The new model may retain a similar focus on battery capacity and charging performance, although this has not been confirmed.

Meanwhile, another Vivo handset bearing the model number V2620A has reportedly appeared in the same Chinese 3C certification database. This device is listed as a 5G smartphone and is said to support wired charging at around 90W. Unlike the V2617A, its commercial identity has not been confirmed, but earlier reports have suggested that it could be linked to Vivo’s upcoming X500 series. The certification provides limited information, and further details about the device’s design, processor, camera system, battery, and launch plans remain unavailable.

The latest certification activity indicates that Vivo is working on multiple smartphones across its Y and X series portfolios. While the 44W charging support of the Y600i and Y600i AI Edition appears consistent with the company’s recent battery-focused Y-series devices, the reported 90W charging capability of the V2620A suggests a higher-end positioning. Vivo has yet to officially announce either handset, and details such as pricing, launch dates, markets, and complete specifications are expected to emerge through further certifications or official teasers.
