Vivo X300 Ultra Arrives in India With Professional-Grade Camera Setup at Rs. 1,59,999

The Vivo X300 Ultra launches in India at Rs 159,999 with a professional-grade camera system.

Vivo India has officially entered the ultra-premium smartphone segment in India with the launch of the Vivo X300 Ultra, a camera-focused flagship aimed at photography enthusiasts and content creators. Positioned as the company’s most advanced non-foldable smartphone yet, the X300 Ultra brings a DSLR-inspired design, high-end imaging hardware, and a range of professional photography accessories. The launch also marks the first time Vivo has introduced its “Ultra” smartphone lineup to the Indian market after years of limiting such devices to China.

Priced at Rs 159,999, the Vivo X300 Ultra sits above the company’s X300 Pro and directly competes with other premium flagship smartphones in the segment. Vivo is also offering an expanded Photography Kit priced at Rs. 209,999, which includes the smartphone, two ZEISS telephoto extender lenses, and a dedicated imaging grip accessory. The 400mm equivalent Vivo ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2 Ultra is priced separately at Rs. 27,999, while the 200mm equivalent Vivo ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2 costs Rs. 15,999. The Vivo Imaging Grip Kit will retail for Rs. 11,999. The smartphone is scheduled to go on sale in India starting May 14 through major online and offline retail platforms.

The Vivo X300 Ultra features a premium unibody 3D glass design combined with a large circular rear camera module that gives the device a distinct DSLR-inspired appearance. Available in Eclipse Black and Victory Green colour options, the smartphone weighs 232 grams and houses a 6.82-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a 2K resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision support, Ultra HDR capabilities, and a pixel density of 510PPI. Vivo has positioned the device as both a productivity and entertainment-focused flagship, offering top-tier display specifications alongside a premium build quality.

Photography remains the centrepiece of the X300 Ultra, with Vivo equipping the device with a triple rear camera setup developed in collaboration with ZEISS. The smartphone includes a 200-megapixel primary sensor with gimbal-level optical image stabilisation, a 200-megapixel telephoto camera capable of 3.7x optical zoom and macro photography, and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide sensor with a 116-degree field of view. On the front, the device carries a 50-megapixel selfie camera. Vivo says the camera system has been optimised for both photography and cinematic video recording, with support for 4K 120fps slow-motion recording and 10-bit log video capture.

The company has also introduced an extensive set of photography-focused software tools and shooting modes. Users can choose from multiple ZEISS imaging styles, such as Natural, Vivid, Refined, and Black & White modes, along with AI-powered image enhancement features designed to automatically adapt photos to different environments and subjects. Additional modes include Stage, Underwater, Snapshot, Landscape, and Night mode, targeting users who frequently shoot concerts, wildlife, travel, or low-light scenes. Vivo says the aim is to offer creators greater flexibility without requiring additional professional equipment.

Early impressions of the Vivo X300 Ultra suggest the company is making an aggressive push into the premium flagship segment traditionally dominated by rivals such as Samsung, Apple, and Xiaomi. Reviewers have highlighted the phone’s camera versatility, display quality, and premium design as standout features, though its high price may limit its appeal to photography enthusiasts and power users. With the addition of professional-grade accessories and advanced imaging capabilities, Vivo appears to be positioning the X300 Ultra as a niche flagship designed primarily for users seeking a smartphone experience centred around mobile photography and videography.
