Tecno Camon 50 Ultra 5G set to launch in India on July 17.
Tecno has confirmed that the Camon 50 Ultra 5G will launch in India on July 17 at 12 pm IST, expanding its Camon 50 smartphone lineup in the country. Ahead of the launch, the company has revealed key details about the handset's design, display, camera and artificial intelligence (AI) features through official teasers and an Amazon microsite. The smartphone was first introduced globally at MWC 2026, where most of its hardware specifications were unveiled.
The Tecno Camon 50 Ultra 5G will be available through Amazon after its official debut and will be offered in Cypress Green, Misty Purple and Nebula Titanium colour options. The handset features a flat-frame design with rounded corners and a vertically aligned rear camera module housing three camera sensors, an additional sensor, a dual-tone LED flash and a Breathing Light indicator. Tecno has not yet announced the smartphone's India pricing.
The smartphone is confirmed to feature a 6.78-inch curved 1.5K AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, a 2800Hz touch sampling rate and peak brightness of up to 4,500 nits. It has a slim 7.75mm profile and is protected by Dual Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. Tecno claims the handset meets IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance, along with MIL-STD-810H military-grade certification. The company also says the phone supports underwater photography at depths of up to two metres for 30 minutes.

Under the hood, the Camon 50 Ultra 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultimate chipset and is expected to be available globally with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The device runs Android 16-based HiOS 16 and includes several AI-powered features such as AI Writing Assistant, AI Noise Cancellation, AI Art Gallery, AI Travel Shots, AI Auto Zoom, Motion Trail and Live Photo support. Buyers will also receive a three-month Google AI Plus membership with 2TB of cloud storage and access to Gemini-powered features.
For photography, the handset is expected to feature a triple rear camera setup comprising a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-700C primary sensor with optical image stabilisation, a 50-megapixel telephoto camera offering 3x optical zoom, and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera that also functions as a macro shooter. The front is expected to house a 13-megapixel selfie camera capable of recording 4K videos at 30fps. The rear camera module also includes a dedicated flicker sensor to improve image quality under artificial lighting.
The Tecno Camon 50 Ultra 5G is backed by a 6,500mAh battery with support for 45W wired fast charging. Tecno claims the battery can retain more than 80 percent of its original capacity after 1,800 charging cycles and operate in temperatures ranging from minus 20 degrees Celsius to 50 degrees Celsius. Additional features include Dolby Atmos-backed stereo speakers, an in-display fingerprint sensor, NFC, Bluetooth 5.4, dual-band Wi-Fi, USB Type-C connectivity and 5G support, making it one of the company's most feature-rich smartphones ahead of its India launch.
