Realme Neo 8 Launching Next Month With 8,000mAh Battery

Realme Neo 8 tipped to launch in China in January 2026, may arrive in India as Realme GT 8 later.

Realme is reportedly preparing to launch its next-generation smartphone, the Realme Neo 8, in China as early as January 2026. The device will succeed the Realme Neo 7, which was introduced in December 2024, and recent leaks suggest that Realme is aiming for a major performance and battery upgrade with this model.

According to noted tipster Abhishek Yadav, the Realme Neo 8 could make its global debut later in 2026 under a different name. The smartphone is expected to be rebranded as the Realme GT 8 for markets such as India, following a similar launch strategy used for earlier GT-series devices, with a possible May launch window.

In terms of performance, the Realme Neo 8 is tipped to be powered by Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor. It is expected to be paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage, positioning it firmly in the flagship segment. One of the biggest highlights is its reported 8,000mAh battery with support for 80W fast charging.

The smartphone is also expected to feature a premium display setup. Leaks suggest a 6.78-inch AMOLED or LTPS flat panel with 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Additional features may include an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, a 3D ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and an X-axis haptic motor.

On the camera front, earlier reports indicate that the Realme Neo 8 may sport a 50MP primary rear camera. While full camera specifications are yet to be revealed, the setup is expected to focus on balanced performance rather than extreme zoom capabilities.

For context, Realme recently launched the Realme GT 8 Pro in India at a starting price of ₹72,999. The GT 8 Pro offers top-tier specifications, including a QHD+ 144Hz AMOLED display, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, and a powerful triple-camera system. If the Neo 8 does arrive as the Realme GT 8, it could slot just below the Pro variant, offering flagship-level features at a more competitive price point.
