Motorola's Razr Fold Book-Style Foldable Launched in India; Price Starts at ₹1,49,999

Motorola launches the Razr Fold foldable in India starting at ₹149,999.

Motorola has officially launched its first book-style foldable smartphone in India, the Motorola Razr Fold, expanding its premium foldable lineup beyond the company’s traditional flip-style Razr devices. The smartphone was first unveiled globally during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026 in March and has now entered the Indian market with flagship-level specifications, including Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, dual LTPO pOLED displays, and fast-charging support. The launch reflects the growing competition in India’s premium foldable smartphone segment, where brands are increasingly focusing on larger foldable designs and productivity-orientated features.

The Motorola Razr Fold is priced at ₹149,999 for the variant offering 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. A higher-end version with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage has been introduced at ₹159,999 after launch offers, while a special FIFA World Cup edition carrying the same storage configuration is priced at ₹169,999. The company is positioning the device in the ultra-premium smartphone category, competing with other foldable offerings from global brands operating in India’s high-end mobile market.

On the hardware front, the foldable device features a 6.6-inch LTPO pOLED outer display with a 165Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 6,000 nits, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3. The inner foldable display measures 8.1 inches and offers 2K resolution, LTPO P-OLED technology, a 120Hz refresh rate, and peak brightness of up to 6,200 nits. Motorola has also equipped the device with ultra-thin glass protection for the foldable panel. The smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor and packs a 6,000 mAh battery supporting 80 W wired charging and 50 W wireless charging.

The Razr Fold also focuses heavily on camera performance, featuring a triple 50 MP rear camera setup designed for flagship-level photography and video capabilities. With the launch, Motorola aims to strengthen its presence in India’s rapidly growing foldable smartphone market, where consumers are increasingly showing interest in premium devices offering larger screens, multitasking capabilities, and innovative form factors. Industry analysts believe foldable smartphones could become a major growth segment in India’s premium mobile category over the next few years as prices gradually become more competitive and technology matures.
