Leaks Suggest Xiaomi 18, 18 Pro, And Pro Max Will Sport 200-Megapixel Rear Cameras
Xiaomi 18 series tipped to include dual 200-megapixel cameras, major upgrade over Xiaomi 17 lineup.
Rumours surrounding Xiaomi’s upcoming flagship series, the Xiaomi 18 series, have begun circulating ahead of the global launch of the Xiaomi 17 series. Early leaks suggest significant camera upgrades for the Xiaomi 18, Xiaomi 18 Pro, and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max, including 200-megapixel rear sensors, marking a major step up from the previous generation. The devices are expected to debut in the second half of 2026.
According to Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station, the engineering prototype of the standard Xiaomi 18 may feature a 200-megapixel camera with a large 1/1.28-inch sensor. The larger models, reportedly the Pro and Pro Max variants, could employ a dual 200-megapixel imaging system, with the main camera paired with a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto lens. Sensor options mentioned in the leak include the 1/1.3-inch OV52B or the 1/1.12-inch OVB0D LOFIC units.
If confirmed, this would constitute a substantial upgrade over the Xiaomi 17 lineup, which features triple rear cameras with 50-megapixel primary, telephoto, and ultra-wide sensors, along with 50-megapixel front-facing cameras for selfies and video calls. The new series is expected to significantly enhance image resolution and low-light performance, according to industry speculation.

Early rumours also indicate that the Xiaomi 18 will sport a 6.4-inch display and be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 6 series system-on-chip.
