Galaxy S26 Ultra Production Estimated at 3.6 Million Units Out of 4.9 Million Total

Galaxy S26 Ultra expected to take three-fourths of initial production, signaling Samsung's strong focus on premium flagship model

Samsung appears to be placing the spotlight firmly on its premium offering with the upcoming Galaxy S26 series, as production plans suggest the Galaxy S26 Ultra will dominate the line-up. According to figures shared by tech tipster Ice Universe, the Ultra model is expected to account for nearly three-fourths of total initial production, highlighting Samsung’s focus on its flagship device.

Initial production estimates indicate approximately 3.6 million units of the Galaxy S26 Ultra, compared with roughly 700,000 units of the base Galaxy S26 and around 600,000 units of the Galaxy S26 Plus. This distribution underscores Samsung’s strategy to position the Ultra as the centrepiece of the series, while the base and Plus models cater to more niche segments. Analysts suggest that the Ultra is likely to be widely available at launch, while the smaller models may face limited stock.

Historically, the Ultra variant has consistently driven the majority of sales in the Galaxy S series, thanks to its premium features, including advanced camera systems, S Pen support, superior displays, and enhanced AI capabilities. This year, Samsung is expected to continue the trend, offering substantial upgrades for the S26 Ultra to reinforce its flagship appeal.

Anticipated upgrades for the Galaxy S26 Ultra include a new privacy display feature, an advanced Exynos 2600 chipset built on a 2nm process for better performance and efficiency, and a larger 4mm punch-hole front camera for an expanded field of view. The device is also expected to use M14 OLED material for the display, see a slight increase in battery capacity, and feature an aluminium finish for a more premium feel.

With these enhancements, Samsung appears to be signalling that the Galaxy S26 Ultra is the true “star” of the series. The company’s production strategy reflects an expectation that consumers will gravitate toward the Ultra for its advanced capabilities, making it the focal point of the Galaxy S26 launch in February. The Galaxy S26 series launch will be closely watched, with industry observers anticipating strong demand for the Ultra, potentially setting a benchmark for premium smartphone sales in 2026.
