Apple TV and HomePod Stock Drying Up Globally: New Hardware Launch Imminent, Says Gurman

Apple is reportedly witnessing declining stock levels of key smart home products — including Apple TV, HomePod, and HomePod mini — across global retail stores, sparking speculation about upcoming hardware upgrades.

According to reports, reduced availability of these devices has been observed in multiple regions, a trend often seen ahead of new product launches. The shortage appears most pronounced for the HomePod mini, which is reportedly becoming difficult to find both in stores and online, while the standard HomePod has limited in-store stock but remains available for delivery. The Apple TV, however, still has relatively stable availability.

Industry insights suggest that Apple may already have updated versions of these devices ready but has delayed their release. The company is believed to be waiting for a more advanced version of its voice assistant, Siri, which is expected to feature enhanced AI capabilities and more context-aware interactions.

The upgraded Siri, likely to be part of Apple’s broader “Apple Intelligence” push, could roll out around the iOS 26.4 update, expected between March and May 2026. Once launched, these improvements are anticipated to extend to Apple’s smart home ecosystem, allowing devices like HomePod to offer more natural and intelligent user interactions.

Reports also indicate that the next-generation Apple TV could come equipped with a more powerful chip to support these AI-driven features, along with improved connectivity. Meanwhile, the HomePod mini is expected to receive incremental upgrades, including a chipset refresh.

While Apple has not officially confirmed any upcoming launches, the current inventory dip has intensified expectations that refreshed versions of its smart home and entertainment devices could arrive soon.
