Indian Railways Crush Opponents at Women's National Kabbadi

Indian Railways dominate Day 2 with huge wins at Women's National Kabaddi.

Day Two of the 72nd Women’s Senior National Kabaddi Championship at the Balayogi Stadium witnessed an intense slate of league matches across all pools, as teams battled fiercely to strengthen their qualification hopes. With several one-sided encounters and a few nail-biting finishes, the competition continued to gather momentum ahead of the knockout stages.

In Pool A, Indian Railways underlined their championship credentials with two commanding victories. They opened the day with a massive 88–12 win over Jammu & Kashmir before following it up with a clinical 54–21 triumph against Delhi, firmly establishing themselves as one of the strongest contenders in the tournament.

Pool B delivered mixed fortunes, with Uttar Pradesh edging past Assam 37–27 in an early contest, only to be halted later by Himachal Pradesh, who produced a disciplined performance to secure a 34–21 victory. These results have kept Pool B wide open, setting the stage for a tight race to the knockout rounds.

Hosts Telangana impressed the home crowd in Pool C by defeating Puducherry 50–16, but Rajasthan soon eclipsed that margin with a dominant 76–12 win over the same opponents. Meanwhile, Pool D saw Goa overpower Jharkhand 74–20 before Haryana closed the day with a strong 52–26 win against Goa, asserting their control in the pool.

Elsewhere, Maharashtra registered a convincing 57–20 win over Vidarbha in Pool E, while Punjab overcame Bihar 39–31 in Pool F. The closest contest of the day came in Pool G, where Gujarat edged Odisha 29–26 in a tense finish. Pool H concluded with Madhya Pradesh defeating Andhra Pradesh 48–23 to stay firmly in contention.

With league matches continuing on January 29, teams will aim to build consistency and momentum as pre-quarterfinal matchups begin to take shape. The upcoming fixtures promise further excitement, as every result now carries significant implications for the knockout rounds.
