Rishabh Pant’s Nightmare IPL 2026 Season Continues With Another Batting Collapse

Pant’s disastrous IPL 2026 form draws massive criticism from fans.

Lucknow Super Giants captain Rishabh Pant continued his inconsistent run in the Indian Premier League 2026 after being dismissed for a brief innings against Chennai Super Kings on Sunday. Pant managed 15 runs off 12 deliveries before falling to CSK pacer Jamie Overton during the league-stage encounter.

The dismissal came at a crucial stage of the innings as Lucknow Super Giants lost wickets in quick succession. Overton bowled a good-length delivery angled across the left-hander, who attempted to steer the ball towards the off side. However, Pant got an inside edge, and the ball crashed into the stumps, ending another underwhelming outing for the wicketkeeper-batter.

Pant’s form has remained a major talking point throughout the IPL 2026 season. Despite being one of the tournament’s biggest attractions and leading the franchise, the left-handed batter has struggled to produce consistently impactful performances. Across 11 matches this season, Pant has scored 251 runs at an average of 27.89 with a strike rate of 138.67.

The innings against Chennai once again triggered criticism from fans and cricket followers on social media. Several users questioned Pant’s performances, especially considering the enormous expectations attached to him after becoming the IPL’s costliest player. Lucknow Super Giants secured Pant’s services for Rs 27 crore ahead of the season, making him the most expensive signing in the league’s history.

While Pant has shown glimpses of his aggressive batting style in patches, his inability to convert starts into substantial scores has drawn scrutiny from analysts and supporters alike. His leadership and batting form are expected to remain under focus as Lucknow Super Giants push for a strong finish in the IPL 2026 campaign.

The pressure on Pant is likely to increase further in the coming matches, with LSG aiming to secure a playoff berth. As one of India’s premier wicketkeeper-batters, Pant’s return to form could prove crucial not only for his franchise but also for maintaining confidence ahead of future international assignments.
