PBKS vs SRH: SRH Post 219/6, PBKS Face Tough Chase In IPL Clash

Abhishek Sharma’s 74 off 28 helps SRH post 219/6 against PBKS in IPL clash.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) posted a commanding total of 219/6 in 20 overs against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in an Indian Premier League 2026 clash on Saturday, powered by a blistering knock from opener Abhishek Sharma at the New Chandigarh stadium.

SRH’s innings was built on explosive top-order batting, with Abhishek Sharma leading the charge. He struck a rapid 74 off just 28 balls, dominating the Punjab bowling attack with aggressive stroke play and setting the tone for a high-scoring total. His innings included a flurry of boundaries and sixes that kept the scoreboard moving at a rapid pace.

Despite the early carnage, the Punjab Kings bowlers managed to pull things back in the latter stages of the innings, restricting SRH from pushing beyond the 220-mark. Key interventions in the middle and death overs helped PBKS contain further damage and ensured that the target remained within reach.

Earlier in the match, PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and elected to bowl first, making a strategic decision to chase under lights. Punjab made one change to their playing XI, bringing in Priyansh Arya in place of Nehal Wadhera, while SRH introduced Salil Arora and Praful Hinge for the contest.

A notable selection decision saw SRH omit England all-rounder Liam Livingstone despite his high-profile signing ahead of the season, a move that drew attention given the strength of the opposition attack and match conditions.

With SRH setting a challenging target of 220, the focus now shifts to Punjab Kings’ chase, as they look to counter a strong Sunrisers batting display and keep their hopes alive in this high-scoring encounter.
