India captain Suryakumar Yadav delivered a strong statement of intent ahead of the T20 World Cup after leading his side to an emphatic eight-wicket win over New Zealand in the third T20I at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium on Sunday. Chasing a target of 154, India raced to victory in just 10 overs, underlining their aggressive approach to the shortest format.

Suryakumar played a captain’s knock, remaining unbeaten on 57 off just 26 balls, as he carried forward the momentum from the previous match. The win was built around a dominant 102-run unbeaten partnership between Suryakumar and Abhishek Sharma.
