Smriti Mandhana Holds Top Spot in Women's ODI Rankings Despite India's 0-3 Loss to Australia
New Zealand's Melie Kerr and Brooke Halliday were the biggest movers in the latest ICC rankings update.
Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana has retained the top position in the latest women’s ODI batting rankings released by the International Cricket Council on Tuesday. The stylish left-handed batter continues to dominate the format despite India recently suffering a 0–3 ODI series defeat against Australia Women's National Cricket Team. Mandhana’s consistent performances have helped her maintain the number one ranking among ODI batters globally.
India captain Harmanpreet Kaur also retained her position in the rankings, staying steady at eighth place in the batting charts. Meanwhile, fellow Indian batter Jemimah Rodrigues slipped one position to 12th following India’s disappointing performance in the recent ODI series against Australia. Despite the setback, Indian players continue to feature prominently in the global rankings.
Several players from the New Zealand Women's National Cricket Team were among the biggest movers in the latest rankings update. The team has been in excellent form at home and recently secured an unassailable 2–0 lead in a three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe Women's National Cricket Team. Strong individual performances during the series have significantly boosted the rankings of several New Zealand players.

New Zealand skipper Mélie Kerr delivered a standout performance during the series, impressing with both bat and ball. Kerr claimed four wickets in the opening match and followed it up with an exceptional seven-wicket haul in the second ODI played in Dunedin. The performance made Kerr just the seventh player in women’s ODI history to take seven or more wickets in a single match.
Kerr’s impressive bowling displays helped her climb five places to 11th in the ODI bowling rankings while also moving up to fifth in the all-rounders’ list. Other New Zealand batters also made notable gains, with Brooke Halliday jumping eight places to 11th and Maddy Green rising four spots to equal 22nd after strong contributions with the bat during the series.
Meanwhile, the latest T20I rankings also saw changes following Sri Lanka’s series victory over the West Indies Women's National Cricket Team. Sri Lanka opener Hasini Perera climbed 15 places to 28th in the T20I batting rankings after scoring an unbeaten half-century in the final match of the series. Other players including Imesha Dulani and Kavisha Dilhari also moved up in the rankings, while West Indies spinner Afy Fletcher improved her position in the T20I bowling charts following strong performances in the series.
