India's innings began on an attacking note, with young opener Vaibhav Sooryavanshi once again displaying his fearless approach. The left-hander struck three boundaries and a six during a quickfire 20 off just nine deliveries before losing his wicket, missing the opportunity to convert his explosive start into a substantial score. Earlier, Abhishek Sharma was dismissed for eight runs after facing as many deliveries, leaving India with early work to do.

Following the dismissals, Ishan Kishan and Tilak Varma steadied the innings with a crucial partnership. Kishan reached his half-century with a blend of controlled stroke play and calculated aggression, keeping India on course for a strong total. Tilak complemented him well, rotating the strike effectively while capitalising on loose deliveries to maintain the scoring momentum.
