Irfan Pathan Stunned: Sahibzada Farhan Takes Single for T20 World Cup Ton, Leaves Last Ball

Sahibzada Farhan's unbeaten 100 powers Pakistan to 199/3 and Super Eight qualification, but Irfan Pathan highlights conservative play in death overs.

Pakistan opener Sahibzada Farhan scripted a memorable performance in the T20 World Cup, scoring an unbeaten 100 off 58 balls against Namibia in a crucial Group A clash on Wednesday. His innings, studded with 11 fours and four sixes, helped Pakistan post a commanding total of 199 for 3 after opting to bat first in the must-win encounter.

Despite the milestone knock, former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan took a playful dig at Farhan’s approach in the closing moments of the innings. Farhan reached his century with a single in the final over and then left the last delivery untouched, drawing Pathan’s on-air reaction. “He definitely has scored a century, but taking a single? Unbelievable,” Pathan remarked, questioning the conservative finish.

Pathan further highlighted the missed opportunity to accelerate in the final over, contrasting it with the aggressive hitting from Shadab Khan, who struck two sixes off Namibia captain Gerhard Erasmus. “In the last over, you play a defensive shot, then you leave the last ball. Kamaal hai,” Pathan added, suggesting Pakistan could have pushed for a bigger total with a more attacking mindset.
