India A Tri-Series in Sri Lanka: Tilak Varma Leads Star-Studded Squad

The India A squad was announced for the 2026 Sri Lanka tri-series featuring young talent.

The squads for the 2026 India A Tri-Series in Sri Lanka have been officially announced, with several emerging stars earning opportunities to showcase their talent on the international stage. The tournament will feature India A, Sri Lanka A, and Afghanistan A, providing young cricketers with valuable exposure and a platform to push for senior national selection.

India A will be led by Tilak Varma, while Riyan Parag has been named vice-captain. The squad includes exciting young talents such as Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Priyansh Arya, Ayush Badoni, Nishant Sindhu, Harsh Dubey, and Suryansh Shedge. Wicketkeeping duties will be shared by Prabhsimran Singh and Kumar Kushagra, while the bowling attack features promising names including Anshul Kamboj, Arshad Khan, Yash Thakur, and Yudhvir Singh.

Afghanistan A will be captained by Imran Mir. The squad includes wicketkeepers Noor Rahman and Mohammad Ishaq, along with Hassan Eisakhil, Khalid Taniwal, Ijaz Ahmadzai, Baheer Shah Mahboob, Faisal Khan Shinozada, Farmanullah Safi, Shams Ur Rahman, Khalil Gurbaz, Zahir Khan Pakteen, Faridoon Dawoodzai, Mohammad Ibrahim, and Abdullah Ahmadzai.

Sri Lanka have named Sahan Arachchige as captain, while experienced wicketkeeper-batter Niroshan Dickwella will serve as vice-captain. The squad also features Avishka Fernando, Nuwanidu Fernando, Sadeera Samarawickrama, Ahan Wickramasinghe, Chamika Karunaratne, Vijayakanth Viyaskanth, Mohamed Shiraz, Ravindu Fernando, and several other emerging players.

A major talking point from the India A squad is the inclusion of teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who continues his rapid rise through Indian cricket. The youngster recently earned significant attention following his impressive performances and is viewed as one of the country's brightest prospects.
