India A secured a commanding 101-run victory over Afghanistan A in their final league-stage match of the Tri-Nation A Series on Wednesday, sealing a place in the tournament final. The emphatic win allowed India A to move ahead of Sri Lanka A on net run rate and book their spot in the title clash after an impressive all-round performance.
After being put in to bat, India A posted a competitive total of 319 for 9 in their allotted 50 overs. The innings was built around valuable half-centuries from captain Tilak Varma, Priyansh Arya, and Kumar Kushagra, all of whom contributed 58-plus scores to provide a strong foundation. Their efforts ensured India A maintained momentum throughout the innings and set Afghanistan A a challenging target.
Tilak Varma led from the front with a composed 59, while Priyansh Arya and Kumar Kushagra scored 58 runs each. Contributions from the middle and lower order helped India A cross the 300-run mark, putting significant pressure on the opposition. The batting unit displayed depth and consistency, with several players making meaningful contributions at crucial stages of the innings.

In reply, Afghanistan A struggled to keep pace with the required run rate and were eventually bowled out for 218 in 36.5 overs. Nishant Sindhu emerged as the standout bowler for India A, claiming four wickets to dismantle the Afghan batting lineup. Yash Thakur picked up two wickets, while Anshul Kamboj, Anukul Roy, Vipraj Nigam, and Suryansh Shedge contributed with one wicket each.
